Terms of Service

By downloading or using ToneScribe (“the App”), developed and operated by Rahul Singh, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

ToneScribe is an iOS voice-to-note app that lets you record voice notes, transcribe them using AI, and transform them into content including Tidy Up, Summary, To-Do, Email, and Tweet formats. The App is available exclusively on iOS via the Apple App Store.

• You may sign in using Sign in with Apple or your email address with a one-time passcode.
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App.

• You retain full ownership of all voice recordings, transcriptions, and generated content you create in the App.
• You grant us a limited licence to process your content solely to provide the App's features, including transcription, AI generation, storage, sync, search, editing, support, security, and account deletion.
• When you choose to use AI features and give AI processing permission in the App, you instruct us to transmit the necessary audio, transcript, note text, or selected note context to our third-party AI providers as described in our Privacy Policy.
• You are responsible for the content you record and store.

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App or its backend services.
• Use the App to generate harmful, misleading, or abusive content.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.

ToneScribe offers the following plans:

• Pro plan includes: unlimited voice notes (up to 15 minutes each), all five compose types (Tidy Up, Summary, To-Do, Email, Tweet), and auto-generated note titles.
• Limited plan: users who dismiss the paywall or whose subscription expires receive 10 voice notes per month. AI compose is not available on the Limited plan.
• Free trial: the Annual plan includes a 7-day free trial with full Pro access. You will not be charged until the trial ends. Cancel anytime before the trial ends to avoid being billed.
• All billing is processed by Apple via in-app purchase. We do not handle or store your payment information.
• Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not ToneScribe. If you would like to request a refund, you must do so through your Apple account or Apple's Report a Problem page, and any refund decision is subject to Apple's policies.
• To cancel your subscription, go to iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → ToneScribe. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
• We reserve the right to adjust pricing or plan features with reasonable advance notice.

ToneScribe includes AI-powered transcription, auto-title, re-transcription, and compose features. These features require third-party AI processing.

• Permission before AI processing: before ToneScribe sends personal data to third-party AI services, the App asks you to allow AI processing and explains what data is sent and who receives it.
• Speech-to-text: audio recordings, temporary signed audio URLs, and transcript data may be sent to Deepgram to convert your speech into text.
• AI writing: note text, original transcript text, selected notes, and requested output type may be sent to OpenAI to generate auto-titles, cleaned-up notes, summaries, to-do lists, emails, and tweets.
• If you decline or revoke permission: AI-based features will be unavailable or disabled, but you may still use non-AI features that do not require third-party AI processing.
• No AI training by ToneScribe: we do not use your notes, recordings, transcripts, or generated content to train ToneScribe-owned AI models.

Content generated by AI (Tidy Up, Summary, To-Do, Email, and Tweet) is produced using third-party AI models. While we strive for quality, AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or unexpected wording. You are responsible for reviewing any AI-generated content before acting on it or sharing it. The Tidy Up compose type modifies your original transcription; a copy of the original text is preserved when available so you can refer back to it.

Your use of ToneScribe is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how it is collected, how it is used, the third-party services we use, and your controls for AI processing permission and account deletion.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ToneScribe and Rahul Singh shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or revenue, arising from your use of the App.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon deletion, your data — including notes and generated content — will be permanently removed.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notice or by updating the date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
