Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 8, 2026
1. Introduction
ToneScribe ("we", "our", or "us") is a product of NextAlphabet. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use ToneScribe at tonescribe.com and any associated services.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: Your name, email address, and authentication data when you sign up via email or Google OAuth.
- Voice recordings: Audio you record through the app. Recordings are temporarily uploaded for transcription processing and are deleted from our servers after processing is complete.
- Transcriptions and generated content: The text transcriptions and AI-generated outputs (tweets, threads, summaries, blogs, emails, LinkedIn posts, newsletters, reel scripts, messages, journal entries, and to-do lists) stored in your account.
- Images: Photos or images you attach to your thoughts, which are compressed and stored securely.
- Usage data: Basic analytics such as pages visited and features used, to help us improve the product.
- Feedback data: When you submit feedback (bug reports, feature requests, or general feedback), we collect your message, email address, and browser user agent information.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the ToneScribe service, including voice transcription, AI content generation, and content sharing.
- To authenticate your identity and manage your account.
- To enable you to share content publicly via shareable links.
- To improve our product and develop new features based on usage patterns and feedback.
- To communicate with you about your account or service updates.
4. Public Sharing
ToneScribe allows you to create public shareable links for your generated content. When you share content, the shared text, content type, and title are stored separately and made accessible via a public URL without requiring authentication. Shared content may include Open Graph metadata for social media previews. You can manage your shared content at any time.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate ToneScribe:
- Supabase: Authentication, database hosting, and file storage (audio and images).
- Deepgram: Voice-to-text transcription (Nova-3 model). Audio is sent for processing and is not retained by Deepgram after transcription.
- OpenAI: AI content generation for short-form outputs (tweets, threads, summaries, emails, messages, to-do lists, text cleanup) and auto-generated titles for your voice entries.
- Anthropic (Claude): AI content generation for long-form outputs (newsletters, blogs, LinkedIn posts, reel scripts).
- Tavily: Web search for the research feature. When you use research, your query is sent to Tavily to retrieve relevant web results.
- Resend: Transactional email delivery for feedback notifications.
- Vercel: Application hosting.
- Google: OAuth authentication.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures including Row Level Security (RLS) on all user data tables. Voice recordings are temporarily uploaded for processing and deleted after transcription — only the resulting text is saved. Images are compressed and stored in secure storage buckets. Audio file access uses signed URLs with short expiration times.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and download your data at any time.
- Delete your account and all associated data, including stored images and shared content.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Opt out of non-essential communications.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
9. Children's Privacy
ToneScribe is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised date.
